In the last four years of supporting families in labor and birth, I have learned the importance of education for pregnant women and their families. I have a professional background in Early Childhood Education, which has taught me that the entire family is affected by the way in which a mother feels in control of her birth experience. I have witnessed firsthand the power of childbirth to bond a mother to her newborn. It is my conviction that childbirth should be a time of joy and hope, during which a family is reborn, and made new with the addition of a child. It is my goal to help empower families at every encounter, so that they may experience the joy that is meant to follow the work of birthing a child. I want to eventually further my study in the field of law, and go on to make a difference concerning the maternal and infant rights of women in the Philippines. I have been married to my husband Nate for seven years and we have three beautiful sons, Daniel, Evan and Matthew.
