Birth work has been my passion for a long time. In the late 1990s, I explored my options and decided on childbirth education and labor support. By 2002, I had completed certifications as a birth doula, childbirth educator and perinatal fitness educator. As of mid-2015, I've now attended over 200 births as a doula.
This work is challenging. It has high highs and low lows. It's completely unpredictable. It will bring you to tears of joy and frustration alike. And I LOVE IT!
My focus has been on doula work for the most part, teaching classes here and there along the way, but education is my heart. Dispelling myths. Clarifying truths. Putting the power back into the hands of the expecting mother. Those things keep me going. I also enjoy passing along what I've learned to new birth professionals who are learning their way around.
My business is known as Expecting New Life Birth Services. At the moment, I offer Birth Doula services throughout Middle Tennessee, including all of Greater Nashville and the Clarksville/Fort Campbell community to the north. I teach childbirth preparation classes in both group and private settings. I've recently completed training with an exclusive group of professionals to become one of the first Evidence Based Birth instructors.
I also offer prenatal henna services for moms who want to adorn their lovely bellies with a temporary natural stained design. All potential clients are welcome to a free initial consultation. Additional details about my services, including pricing and client reviews, can be found at my website.
